About

Michael P. Sapourn, JD, CIC, CRM

An attorney who spent his first career inside the insurance industry, and now uses that knowledge for people in disputes with insurers and agents.

When you have a problem with your insurance company or your agent, you need a Florida insurance lawyer who is familiar with how the insurance industry really works. Michael Sapourn spent 23 years running a large, privately held insurance brokerage in the Washington, DC area. He moved to Florida in 2002 and was a licensed Public Adjuster for seven years, adjusting substantial homeowners and commercial property claims.

Other attorneys hire him for his insurance knowledge. He has been qualified as an expert in federal and state courts on bad faith claims practices, the insurance agent standard of care and insurance policy interpretation. That insider experience makes him a valuable ally to anyone who must litigate an insurance matter to get a just result.

He also spent years running the business operations and compliance departments for SEC-registered investment advisers, so he knows the standard of care expected of people who sell life insurance, annuities and investments. If a salesperson sold you an annuity or investment you did not understand, that salesperson may be responsible for your loss.

Personal attention, and cases that keep moving

Mike brings a business owner’s customer orientation to his law practice. Some cases resolve by evaluating damages and negotiating a settlement; others have to go to trial, and litigation can take months or years. Either way, he takes a personal interest in every client, communicates regularly so you always know where things stand, and moves your case along as fast as schedules allow. With Mike, your case stays on the front burner.
